We are looking forward to welcoming you at The 5th World Congress on Controversies in Ophthalmology (COPHy), 20-23 March, 2014 at the EPIC SANA Lisboa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. In preparation for this upcoming Congress we would like to provide you with the below information for your perusal before travelling to join us at the 5th COPHy!

Arrival to the Congress Venue from the Airport
Below are options of transport to the COPHy Congress Venue:
Aerobus 1 Price: 3.50 €. No restrictions on the amount of luggage and valid for the entire network of rails on the day purchased.
Bus 744 Price: 1.40 €. (All buses stop outside the SANA Lisboa).
Taxi Price: 12-20 €, depending on time and luggage.
Car Follow the signs "Centro" or "Marquis of Pombal". Between the 2nd Circular and exit to the right towards the Campo Grande. Turn right and enter the tunnel, always moving forward. Pass the Avenida da República and continue straight until you reach AvenidaFontes Pereira de Melo. SANA Lisboa Hotel is on the left at the end of the avenue. To stop the car across the street, continue straight through the roundabout of the Marquis of Pombal, go around it and get off at the 5th exit, changing direction. To go directly to the parking lot, exit at 4th exit off the roundabout of the Marquis of Pombal, towards Av Duque de Loulé. Turn left at 1st exit (traffic light) and follow the street until you see the sign of parking at the SANA Lisboa Hotel, on your left.

Please register upon arrival in order to receive your kit containing the COPHy Congress Program Book, your personal name tag, invitations, etc. Please remember to wear your name tag to all Congress activities and social events.

Welcome Reception
All registered participants and registered accompanying persons are invited to the Welcome Reception, which will take place on Thursday, March 20 at 19:00-20:00. Invitations are included in the personal registration kit.
Lunch Box pick-up will be available on Friday March 21, 2014 at 12:15-12:30 followed by Desserts at 13:45-14:15. A buffet lunch will be served for participants of the Congress on Saturday, March 22, 2014 13:30-14:30. Please present your name tag at the entrance.
Poster Presentation
Posters should be mounted between 08:15-08:45 on the day of presentation.
Poster presenters should plan to be beside their posters during the breaks, as specified in the program on the day of their presentation. Please see the Congress Secretariat for board allocation at the Congress.

Please remember to dismantle your poster at the end of the day of your presentation, no later than 18:15.

The Organizing Committee is not responsible for posters that are not removed on time! Poster presentation times are as follows:

CME Accreditation
Please note that you have your CME Accreditation feedback form in your Congress Kit. In order to receive your accreditation points, please submit the completed feedback form to the Registration Desk before the end of the Congress. Your certificate will be sent to you directly.
COPHy Feedback Form
Please note that you have a COPHy-CME Feedback Form in your Congress Kit. We would greatly appreciate hearing your comments. Once completed, this form may be handed in to the Registration Desk.
Prior to booking flights, registrants are strongly advised to confirm with their travel agent whether they require a Visa to travel to Germany. Information about Visa requirements can be found on the World Travel Guide website:

COPHy on site Policies
Please note the following:

Photography and Recording Policy - Participants are asked to be respectful of their colleagues by turning off all cell phones and PDA devices before entering meeting rooms. Cameras and all other recording devices are strictly prohibited in all session halls, in the Exhibition Area, and in all poster presentations. Thank you for your cooperation.
Smoking Policy - In accordance with our policy, COPHy is a non-smoking Congress.
Internet, Email and WIFI
Free Internet and email facilities will be available during Congress hours. Complimentary WIFI will also be available in the Congress area.
Currency Exchange
The official currency of Portugal is the EURO. Banks are open 8.30am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday in Portugal and closed on official holidays. Foreign currencies and especially Travelers checks are now a day’s difficult to exchange in banks (unless depositing) just like travelers checks in specialized stores called Foreign Exchange Bureaus in Portugal. You should consider purchasing the Euro currency at a more favorable exchange rate, at home before you arrive in Portugal. Most major credit cards are widely accepted and recommended but consult with your credit or debit card bank about the foreign exchange transaction fees charged for using your card in Portugal.

Lisbon is generally mild and sunny but rain can be expected throughout the year, the average temperature in March is 10-18°C. Medium weight clothing is recommended and rainwear.
Lisbon Business Hours
Most shops and stores are open 9.00am - 7.00pm (with one hour lunch in, between noon and 3.00pm) Monday to Friday and 9.00am - 1.00pm on Saturday. Shopping centers are usually open Mon-Sun 10.00am – 11.00pm.
