The Congress Venue will be the award-winning 5-star Pudong Shangri-La Hotel.
The hotel is located in the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone of Shanghai. It enjoys easy access to both Hongqiao and Pudong international airports and is also close to the subway connecting Pudong to Puxi (West Shanghai).
 
Prominently situated along the famous Huangpu River, the hotel has breathtaking views of Shanghai's legendary riverfront - the Bund and the Orient Pearl TV Tower. Its 606 rooms are the most spacious in the city and are complemented by an extensive range of restaurants, lounges, and bars. There are spectacular views across the Huangpu River to the Bund from many of the guest rooms.

Temperatures in autumn are between 6°C and 18°C (43°F and 64°F) with an average rainfall of 28 mm.

Currency Exchange
The unit of money in China is known as renminbi (RMB). The unit of money itself is called the yuan (CNY). Credit cards are accepted in major hotels as well as shopping malls.

Visa, Master, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, and other credit cards are accepted in many department stores and hotels.
 
It may be difficult to draw cash out with credit cards. The Bank of China and most hotels can cash travelers cheques issued by any foreign bank or financial institution. Travelers cheques signed over to a third party cannot be cashed in China, but can be presented for collection through the Bank of China.
 
Shanghai Airport Information 
Shanghai has two international airports: The Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Hongqiao International Airport (SHA). 
 
Airport Connections
The Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, is 35 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and 50 minutes from Pudong International Airport.
 
To arrange an airport pick-up, simply provide your flight name, flight number and estimated time of arrival when booking on-line, or contact the hotel directly by phoning (86 21) 6882 8888 or email reservations.slpu@shangri-la.com. Please make your booking at least two days in advance.
 
The service charge for airport varies based on details of your pickup. Limousine transfer in a Coaster, Buick, Mercedes or Rolls Royce is available with costs starting from RMB 400 (USD 50) from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport or RMB 600 (USD 75) from Pudong International Airport (rates are based on one-way fare). Airport butler service is also available, with a hotel representative present at the gate and able to quickly escort you through the airport to the waiting car.
 
Taxis and city shuttle buses can be found on the ground floor of the domestic and international arrival halls. Taxis are metered, and the fare between Pudong International Airport and the hotel generally costs around RMB 150 (USD 20) per journey, while fares from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport are generally RMB 60 (USD 8).
 
The Maglev High-Speed Train from Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road Metro Station takes eight minutes. The train operates from 7am to 9pm daily. One-way economy fares cost RMB 50 (USD 7), whilst VIP fares cost RMB 100 (USD 13)
 
Taxis
Taxis in Shanghai are an effective way to get around the city, although they are often most easily obtained at a hotel taxi area. Taxis are metered, with fares starting at RMB 11 (USD 1.5). Taxis are available at the hotel or at designated taxi queues found across the city.
 
Ferry
The hotel is conveniently located close to ferry shuttle services. Ferry boats shuttle across the Huangpu River every 15 minutes between the southern Bund and Pudong’s Lujiazui district.
 
Metro & Light Rail
Shanghai has two metro lines and one light rail line. The No. 1 line runs from Shanghai train station in the north, through Renmin Square and down to the Xinzhuang metro station in the southern part of town.
 
The No. 2 line runs from Zhongshan Park to Longyang Lu in Pudong. The light rail doubles as the third metro line and runs from the western perimeter of the city, to Shanghai train station and then northeast.
 
Trains
Trains offer an efficient, scenic way of traveling within China. Trains link most parts of the country with reliable services. You may travel in one of four classes: Soft Seat or Soft Sleeper with air-conditioning; and the Hard Seat or Hard Sleeper.
 
Shanghai is at the junction of the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Hangzhou train lines, and is an excellent location for reaching many of China’s far-reaching cities.

Tipping
Many mid-range and top-end restaurants include their own service charge that varies. Officially, tipping is considered inappropriate and is discouraged.

Public Health
Visitors entering China are required to complete a health declaration form. Check with your local doctor or health care professional about vaccination requirements before you plan your trip.
 
The Shangri-La Hotel recommends you drink only boiled or bottled water during your stay in Shanghai. Bottled drinking water is available in every room.
