Currency
The currency in Spain is the Euro. Spanish auto-banks allow anyone with a visa-based card to withdraw cash from their account. Bank ATM machines may add a 3% fee on foreign ATM withdrawals. You can also withdraw cash using most switch cards. Credit cards, including AMEX, are widely accepted in most of the high streets shops, restaurants and hotels. However many smaller restaurants and hostals still do not have credit card payment facilities. Notes can be found in 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500-euro denominations. Coins start with the 1-cent piece and end with the 2 euro piece.

Tipping
Tipping is not a requirement. However if you had good service a 5% to 10% tip would be considered polite.

Business Hours
Business hours is Barcelona are usually 9:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00 with an afternoon siesta in the middle. The working week is Monday to Friday. Sunday is considered a holiday and most businesses are closed.
