Thirty Years of Advances in Reproductive Endocrinology and ART: A Celebratory Congress Centre Mont-Royal, Montreal, Canada, May 27-31, 2011
Tips and Hints
Weather Spring and fall are pleasantly mild but prone to drastic temperature changes.
Currency Montreal’s currency is the Canadian dollar, which is relatively stable. ATMs are located throughout Montreal. There will very likely be at least one fee for withdrawing money. Hotels, attractions and stores routinely take major credit and debit cards. You may also use your debit card at stores and receive cash back to avoid ATM charges. Currency exchange calculations can be made at http://www.xe.com/ucc/
Tipping A tip of 15% is customarily left for waiters and waitresses at the table, calculated on the pre-tax total of your bill. It will not be calculated for you. The additional charges on a restaurant bill are taxes, not service charges and are not voluntary. Taxi drivers usually receive a tip of 10-15% as do those who render personal services such as haircuts.
Business Hours According to Montreal law, stores may stay open from 9:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Friday and from 9:00am to 5:00pm on weekends. You will find that many stores and shops are closed on Mondays. Banks are typically open from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Thursday and from 10:00am to 6:00pm Friday. You will find some in the city that offer extended afternoon hours, as well as limited Saturday morning hours. All banks are closed on national holidays.
